Today's programme was divided equally between artists from Tibet and from China. In the first part of the show we were joined by Tibetan Freedom Singer and activist Techung - www.techung.com who sang and played live in the KPFA studio and told stories of his very recent visit to Tibetan communities and celebrations in India.
In the second hour I was joined by Chinese Master Percussionist Wang Wei, who is playing his first concert headlining under his own name at ODC Theater on April 3rd [www.odctheater.org]. Wang Wei played live and explained some of the cultural origins of chinese drums and percussion.
