KPFA Winter Fund Drive. The goal is $1,000,000 in 2 weeks. This is my first fund raising show. I played selections from the following CD's:
Two CD's featuring a variety of music from Central Asia - The Rough Guide with music from - Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazhakstan etc and a KPFA exclusive from The Pure Nature Music Comany's new internet site for music including that of Tuva and Central Asia, www.tarbagan.com. This includes previously unreleased music from Chirgilchin and much more. Then two CD's from the Caribbean - Omar Sosa with his most recent stunning group work "Mulatos" and fabulous New York based Haitian singer and songwriter Emeline Michel.
