This morning began the show with a tribute to Tanzanian master Musician, Dr. Hukwe Zawose, who passed away this week. I opened the program with a track from the classic CD, 'Mateso', recorded live in London in the mid 1980's. Then I featured live interview, live performance and recorded music by moroccan-born Bay Area resident, Yassir Chadly. Yassir is completing work on a new CD to be released in the spring on www.remarkablecurrent.com. This inspired a show largely dedicated to music originating in North Africa. The last piece of the show was dedicated to the Chinese Year of The Monkey, which starts today. Gung Hay Fat Choy!
