This week's playlist:
This morning began the show with a tribute to Tanzanian master Musician, Dr. Hukwe Zawose, who passed away this week. I opened the program with a track from the classic CD, 'Mateso', recorded live in London in the mid 1980's. Then I featured live interview, live performance and recorded music by moroccan-born Bay Area resident, Yassir Chadly. Yassir is completing work on a new CD to be released in the spring on www.remarkablecurrent.com. This inspired a show largely dedicated to music originating in North Africa. The last piece of the show was dedicated to the Chinese Year of The Monkey, which starts today.
